Grateful | Adrienne Alvis

Good morning Hip Kit Club fans! I have a layout I created using the October 2015 Hip Kits to share with you today…

My daughter was thrilled to be able to rake up and play in the leaves this season. We’ve had unseasonably warm weather this fall and it seemed like it took the leaves forever to end up on the ground. I placed my two photos close to the center of my page vertically and then added the full sheet of the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane Word Jumble Mini Stickers from the October 2015 Embellishment Kit to the left of them. I love how the gold letters and the aqua transparency looks against the black and white polka dot patterned paper!

I used lots of leaves from Nicole’s October cut file that’s available here and layered them vertically down the right side of my page next to my photos.

I layered a few more leaves and several other embellishments from the October kits and stitched the “grateful” sentiment down using my sewing machine.

I love how the layered leaves look next to the photos of my daughter throwing leaves into the air. I also love the color schemes that are in the October 2015 Hip Kits because they coordinate with all of my fall-themed projects! Be sure and grab yours today and I’ll be back next week with projects using the November kits. Have a great day!

Family, Fall, Fun | Adrienne Alvis

Good morning everyone! I have another fall-themed layout to share with you today that I created using the October 2015 Hip Kits and one of the subscriber exclusive cut files for October…

I resized the sentiment from this cut file to be larger so it would really stand out on my page. I added the photos of my family from our recent trip to a local pumpkin patch around the wreath after I stitched it to the beautiful woodgrain patterned paper that’s available in the October 2015 Main Kit.

I added some gold accents and embellishments from the Pink Paislee ephemera pack and stickers that are available in the October 2015 Embellishment Kit around the wreath to give it some color and extra dimension.

I cut apart the gold chevron tag in the Pink Paislee ephemera pack and layered the chevrons around the photo on the left and by the title for an added pop of gold.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to document and the October kits are perfect for all of my fall photos!

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for using the cut files this month!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello Rocky Dude with Wendy

Good Morning and welcome to the Hip Kit Club blog!  Wendy here today sharing some inspiration based on our October moodboard…  I was inspired to cut some leaves from vellum using DT Member Nicole’s cut file and I played with some orange and blues, with a touch of yellow to surprise you.

Hello Rocky Dude

I assembled this pretty little cluster on the hello card to go along with my picture using pieces from the October Main kit and the Project Life Add-on (found here).

Hello Rocky Dude-2

The rest of the layout was a combination of pieces looking for balance and forming visual triangles.  I added the wood veneer from Simple Stories to balance out the Love from the September Main kit (which is sold out).  The yellow was a Project Life card designed for the October Project Life Add-on.

Hello Rocky Dude-3

I love those Pink Paislee arrows that were included in the Embellishment kit, I never thought I’d use them, lol!

Hello Rocky Dude-4

I hope you have been inspired to try our October Moodboard!  See you next week.

Project Life Weeks 37 & 38 | Adrienne Alvis

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I’m here today to share my Project Life spread for Weeks 37 & 38 that I created using the October 2015 Hip Kits

Week 37

I started by printing off my photos for each week and placing them on the pockets where I wanted them to go.

Then I chose the PL cards that I wanted to use from the October 2015 Project Life Kit and placed them on my spread on top of their designated pockets.

I used embellishments from the October 2015 Hip Kits to dress up my PL cards and photos.

Week 38

I kept my two pages cohesive by using the same color scheme and by using the same letter stickers from the October 2015 Main Kit for each individual week/side.

I also used the same themed elements (such as the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane Puffy Stickers and Ephemera Pack) throughout my spread to keep it cohesive as well.

I love how well the October Kits coordinate with my photos for these two weeks. They went so well with my photos from early September and really helped my spread feel more “fall-ish”.

What are some of your favorite items from the October 2015 Hip Kits? Be sure and share your work with us on our FB Member Forum page.

Thanks for dropping by this morning! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Project Life Weeks 35 & 36 | Adrienne Alvis

Hello Hip Kit fans! I have my Project Life spread for Weeks 35 & 36 to share with you this morning that I created using the gorgeous September 2015 Hip Kits.

I started by printing off my photos for these two weeks and laying them on top of their designated pockets. Then I decided which journaling and filler cards I wanted to use from the September 2015 Project Life Kit and placed them around my spread to fill the empty pockets.

I used the Elle’s Studio stamp set and Tim Holtz Distress Markers from the September 2015 Color Kit to create the title card above. I completed it by adding a few enamel hearts, a chipboard arrow, and cork letter stickers to signify the week number.

To dress up a few of the filler cards, I added some chipboard stickers from Crate Paper (available in the September 2015 Embellishment Kit), washi tape, and some rub-ons from Amy Tangerine.

4week35Week 35

1week35I continued my design for Week 36 on the right side of my spread by using coordinating embellishments, colors, and alphas so my overall design for the two separate weeks looked more cohesive.

I love how well the rub-ons worked for my spread. I even placed some directly onto my photos for a layer of color and contrast.

Week 36

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I’ve given you some inspiration for your next Project Life spread.

Happy Tongue | Adrienne Alvis

Good morning crafty friends! I have the first layout I made using the September 2015 Hip Kits to share with you today…

I started with the photo of my daughter eating one of her favorite ice cream treats and enjoying one of the last days of summer break by placing it near the top of my page and using the Dear Lizzy Documentary “Hello Love” patterned paper as my background.

Next, I used the “Happy” chipboard word piece from the Crate Paper Wonder Collection and placed it under my photo overlapping the picture just a bit. I also layered some rub-ons and ephemera pieces from Amy Tangerine (available in the Main Kit), as well as a few of the Dear Lizzy painted wood buttons around my photo to draw the eye towards that part of my page.

I used the Distress markers and alphabet stamp set from Elle’s Studio that’s available in the September 2015 Color Kit to finish the last word in my title. I stamped the letters using StazOn black ink and then colored a few in using the Distress markers from the kit.

I layered a pink watercolor rub-on on top of the journaling card from Amy Tan and placed it below my title continuing the vertical design of my layout down my page. I made an embellishment cluster by adding a few more ephemera bits and a couple of wood buttons around the right side of my journaling card that I layered on top of the black and white polka dot patterned paper from Dear Lizzy.

The September 2015 kits are amazing and perfect for scrapping all of you late summer/early fall photos! Be sure and grab yours today and share your creations with us on our Facebook forum page.

Thanks for stopping by this morning!

Pass The SPF | Adrienne Alvis

Good morning everyone!  I’m here today with another layout I created using the July 2015 Hip Kits. This page was inspired by all of the bright, summery colors in the July kits and of course by the main activity we’ve been enjoying together as a family this summer…

We didn’t travel anywhere for vacation this year so we’ve been making the most of staying at home all summer by swimming at my mother’s pool a couple of days a week.

I printed my photo a little larger than I normally do and added the gold chipboard sentiment sticker “sitting poolside” directly on the top left side of my photo. I also added one of the adorable mason jars from Crate Paper available in the July 2015 Embellishment Kit on the other side of my picture so it helped balance out my design. I slipped a few gold sequins inside of the jar and added another chipboard sticker to the top to make the jar look like a cute little umbrella drink 🙂

I used a card from the July 2015 Project Life Kit for my journaling and placed another chipboard banner sticker on top of it after I typed my words. I also used one of the wood veneer arrows from Heidi Swapp and painted it with the coral Distress Ink from the July 2015 Color Kit to coordinate with my page and wrapped some twine around it to give my layout more texture.

I placed my title near the bottom right-hand corner of my page and layered a die cut and chipboard flower sticker together for some dimension. I love how the chipboard pieces add so much dimension and depth to my pages…they’re one of my favorite embellishments to use on my projects!

I hope you have a lovely day and thanks for dropping by this morning!

Hey Babe | Kim Watson

Hello friends!!

I hope you are having a smashing weekend & your time allows you some crafting time because I have a new page to share with you using the GORGEOUS April kit & add-ons I really hope you find it inspirational. I am crazy about the citrus colors & hand doodled vibe of the Amy Tangerine products…perfect for my photo.

Hey Babe by Kim Watson

The April papers are amazing! The colors, the patterns… everything Kimberly chose for this kit is so perfectly coordinated, it makes sense to mix them together!

@HipKitClub @KimWatson

What’s not to love about these uber cool printed wood veneer shapes, epoxy & die cut circles? Layering them together created a wonderful little accent cluster. Those absolutely fabulous thickers from American Crafts are to-die-for, stitching them onto the page not only makes sure they don’t fall off but adds great texture too.
@HipKitClub @KimWatson

http://http://@KimWatson @HipKitClubMix those Thickers up for a wonderful conversational title…also stitching them through adding continuity to your design.

Well that’s all from me today!  Be sure and stop back by tomorrow for even more creative inspiration.

Have a wonderful afternoon!

Photobomb’s Away! | Adrienne Alvis

Hello everyone!  I’m here today with a layout I created using the April 2015 Hip Kits

I love using black and white stripes with bright pops of color like pink and yellow for my layouts.  The April 2015 Embellishment Kit was perfect for helping me achieve that look.  For example, after I misted my black and white striped background patterned paper with pink and yellow spray ink, I used the pink chipboard frame and foam alphas to add even more pops of pink throughout my page.

I also altered the wood veneer arrows from Freckled Fawn, available in the April 2015 Project Life Kit, with the same pink ink I sprayed on my page.  I love how you can use paint, spray ink, or markers to alter wood veneer pieces to fit any color scheme to match any project!

I just had to use this title for my page…my boys were in the background on a lawnmower driving around the yard while my daughter was playing in the driveway.  I didn’t even realize how funny they looked until after I snapped the photos on my phone, lol!

I also added some gold embellishments around my page for a hint of glint.  I love how the gold looks next to the pink and yellow ink.  What are some of your current color combo obsessions?

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Egg Hunt, Just For Fun | Adrienne Alvis

Hello everyone!  I’m here today sharing one of my favorite photos from my family’s Easter celebration on a layout I created using the April 2015 Hip Kits.

I used some watercolors in various shades of pink, yellow, and orange for the “Just For Fun” card from Heidi Swapp available in the April 2015 Color Kit. I layered my photo on top of the card once it was dry and adhered it to my page after I splattered blue ink on the yellow patterned paper piece.

I added several embellishments on and around my photo from the April 2015 kits. I used one of the Amy Tangerine Die Cuts for my journaling and stitched along the outside edges of my layout using my sewing machine.

I love how the Color Kits help make my layouts pop and add an extra dimension of color and interest.

Thanks for joining me this morning!  I hope you have a wonderful day!
