“My shelter” – Layout with some layering

Hello! It’s Justyna here today and I wanted to show you a layout I made recently with December 2016 kits. The photo is from Christmas Eve and it’s my grandma there. I had no idea she will be so good at selfies 😀

I used December Embellishment Kit, December PL Kit and December Main Kit. I cut out those wonderful windows and little houses from the Pink Paislee paper.

I made some layers to emphasize that cute frame (and of course the photo) from the die cuts pack (from Pink Paislee as well).

There are quite a lot of stripes of paper but I decided it would be better if I hide some under the white stripes so as to not to distract attention with too much color, because, as you can see, there’s plenty of it 😀

I really hope you like it! Have a wonderful week!

Happy 2017! It’s such a great feeling to start a new year, but I’m determined to finish my 2016 project life album. Today, I’m going to walk you through  week 51 that covers the week of Christmas.

Purple and blue aren’t traditional Christmas colors, but I’m so over red and green so I welcomed the change.

Since it was a holiday week, I busted out my sewing machine with some gold thread to accent many of the cards you’ll see in the layout. For my title card, I went with the calendar card from the kit and highlighted the days of the week in a pastel purple highlighter. I wanted to add a bit more to it, so I used a stripped banner embellishment, cut it in half and covered the bottom of the card. I ran this through my sewing machine and called it done.

Does anyone else love the tabs from the kit? I used a square photo matted against the chevron card, and sewed one of those tabs on the top, along with a gold acrylic sticker from the Main Kit.

This is probably one of my favorite cards in the spread. I cut down the “a few of my favorite things” card a bit smaller than 3×4, then matted it against a purple stripped card to add some interest. I sewed around the edge in zig zag pattern and love the result.

I was so excited to get acrylic shapes in this month’s kit, that I knew I had to go big. This family photo of us had a lot of white space, so I pulled the blue and purple colors from the kit into it by using those stars. Since you could barely see the star on our tree, I used a gold acrylic sticker from the main kit as a substitute tree topper.

Finally, I adhered a badge along with of the exclusive word embellishments  to the quote card and thought it made for a nice conclusion.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed my spread this week! Do you stick to traditional christmas colors around this time of year or are you venturing out into the pastel world?

So much Fun with the November Hip Kits | Raquel Bowman

Hey everyone, its Raquel here today sharing my latest layout using the gorgeous November Christmas kits. For this layout I have documented a photo of my daughter after she had her face painted like Elsa at last years christmas concert for her playgroup. I stuck to a coral, mint, black and white colour palette and used mainly the Hip Kit exclusives with a mix of Snow and Cocoa in there by Crate Paper too. so-much-fun

I found some of the embellishments in the Snow and Cocoa ephemera pack or papers and fussy cut out any elements that would work with this colour palette – like the mittens. I think they look so adorable! I typed the journaling on my typewriter and cut it into strip form to add to the page. so-much-fun-1

The little house and bird from the Snow and Cocoa Paper was so adorable and was just calling to be fussy cut out and turned into embellishments. I layered and created this cluster using a variety of dimensional adhesives. I used normal double sided tape, some raised foam dots and also some foam tape. It brings a lot of depth and detail to that one small area. Even simply folding corners inwards can bring a dimension to your page that give it that something extra. so-much-fun-2

Behind the photo I added a doily from my stash and then a layer of the gorgeous mint coloured patterned paper by Crate Paper. To adhere the acetate title, I simply stapled it to the edge of the photo. This minimised any adhesive or liquid glue showing through and secured it well. I couldn’t resist adding that fussy cut penguin to the left of it too. so-much-fun-3

The quote below on one of the die cut cards was so cute and suited the theme and subject. It had a dark teal border so I removed that and matted it on woodgrain instead.

A vertical design in the form of a loose grid is one of my ‘go to’ layout styles when I am feeling a little bit of a scrappy rut. I think the busyness of christmas and this time of the year never seems to help with my mojo!

I hope you have found this post inspiring today. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. I hope you have a beautiful day with you loved ones.

Hi Girls! It’s Flóra back with a Christmas themed layout made with November 2016 Hip Kits. Today’s layout is based on a snow globe idea. I love to oversize elements on my layouts, so I cut out a huge snow globe with my Silhouette Cameo . I used patterned papers from November 2016 Paper Kit.

Then I worked on the layering behind the photo. I clustered lots of bits and pieces from Crate Paper – Snow & Cocoa – Ephemera included in December Documented 2016 Kit.

Once this was done I created snow slopes from white cardstock. I placed fussy cut pine trees, houses and cute birds on the slopes.

I decorated the layout with HKC Exclusive – ‘Tis the Season – Puffy Stickers – designed by Kim Watson and colorful sequins from the November 2016 Embellishment Kit.

The title was created from Pinkfresh Studio – Oh Joy – Gold Mirror Acrylic Stickers and Hip Kit Club – ‘Tis the Season – Ephemera – designed by Kim Watson.

I hope you like my new layout as I love how it turned out. I wish you wonderful weekend and preparation for Christmas.

Grid Tree – BEA Valint

Hey everyone, its BEA here today sharing a new layout using the November kits and cut files. The gorgeous and festive November Kit is just perfect for Christmas memory keeping and any kind of winter projects!

My assignment this week was to create a grid layout. I decided to turn it into a kind of Christmas tree form grid using patterned papers and my photos.  I chose the beautiful snowflakes exclusive patterned paper as my background from the Main Kit.

I trimmed some Crate Paper patterned paper into small pieces, and machine stitched them  to the background in a Christmas tree form. The beautiful patterns looks so pretty next to each other.  I used one of my photo as a part of the tree form too, the pretty ornaments reflect our Christmas spirit perfectly. I adhered my daughter’s pictures with foam dots, and embellished the layout with exclusive ephemera, stickers and flair button.

Did you know that HKC celebrates 12 Days of Giving with some super fun free cut files? They will be a fun addition to any of your holiday projects, I used the Holiday Cheer cut file as the title of my layout, it looks so pretty on the layout.

I hope this layout gives you some inspiration! Have a nice weekend! BEA
