TUESDAY WITH KALI…

Hi there! It’s Kali here with you today sharing my new projects using our fabulous September Hip Kit and Add-On Kits! I had a big crush on this striped paper from the Notes & Things collection, and I wanted to use it right away.  My black and white photos brings sweetness and some contrast to my page.  I added a layer of vellum behind my photo to soften the pattern behind it.  I hope you like it!

And my second project is an autumn card with cool colors.  I really love these tones for the fall… blue, gold and a touch of mint – they make a beautiful combination.  I hope that this simple card will inspire you for your next projects 🙂 Thanks Kali ❤

MEET IRIT LANDGRAF… OUR NEWEST DT MEMBER…

Irit Landgraf Graphic

Hi! My name is Irit Landgraf, I’m 34 years old, married and mother to a sweet 5 year old girl. I was born and raised in Israel, and moved to Austria (no kangaroos here!) 3 years ago. Moving to a strange country has brought many changes and new experiences to my life, one of them was the discovery of scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking in 2011, and it has since become my favorite hobby and creative outlet. I love using color on my layouts, and have been having lots of fun with paints, watercolors, inks, and all things mixed media. I get to be creative and artsy and keep memories all at the same time,

I’m so excited to share my first design team project with you!  This layout has all the things that I love nowadays, some mixed media, pink, and shiny things… Almost everything here is from the September Hip Kits, but there are also a few items from the August Hip Kit (I mix and match kits all the time).  I started the page with a soft pink cardstock that came with the August cardstock add on. I used a dry baby wipe (a dry paper towel will also work, but the baby wipe is softer) to apply gesso to the background. That creates that subtle, almost cloud-like pattern. I then used a stencil and modeling paste to add more texture. I also added some gesso to the ‘shine’ Studio Calico wood veneer, just to soften the natural wood color a little. You can see all the stages of creating this layout on the process video. I hope you like it and that you’ll join me on Mondays for some more mixed media fun using our Hip Kits!

SUNDAY WITH KATE KENNEDY…

Hey y’all, Kate Kennedy here with my final layout & video featuring our September Hip Kit!  I am a little sad because I love this kit!  I just posted our October Hip Kit Open Box video today, and I am super excited to start working with it.  For this layout I wanted to focus on a layering and I used a couple pieces from our last two Hip Kits. An overlay by Shimelle and one of the Open Road chipboard frames. I also wanted to tone down or soften the cork paper so I added some gesso to it. You can watch my step process in my video – so be sure to watch.  Thanks for stopping by. See you next Sunday with my first project created with our October Hip Kits.  Have a great week!

SATURDAY WITH ASHLEY FOWLER…

Hey there! Ashley Fowler here sharing another fun layout made with our September Hip Kit and Add-Ons! For this layout, I particularly wanted to focus on those amazing triangle stamps we received in the Stamp Add-On! I stamped out the different patterned triangles with Versa-Mark ink and then embossed them in gold. The rest of the layout is very simple. I decided to mount my focal point on the left side of the page with very few layers. I used the MME chipboard pieces and stickers, as well as the Teresa Collins chipboard pieces and wood veneer. I really hope you love this layout! Have a wonderful Saturday!

WEDNESDAY WITH ASHLEY HORTON…

If you ever wonder about my process for putting a layout together, I’ll share a bit about it with you today. I usually like to scrapbook my most recent photos, so I either choose a specific photo or narrow them down. When I started this layout, I had a few photos in mind, but wanted to look through the patterned papers in the September 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits. I really loved the chevron pattern from the Crate Paper Notes & Things collection, so I decided to use it for my background. Then I grabbed the words “Shine” and “Today” from the Studio Calico wood veneer words, to use for my title. I placed the words in the center of the page, and liked the look of it. I decided I wanted a repeating photo, and wanted to place them down the line, where the chevron patterns intersected. I adhered my photos, and then removed the other loose pieces, to add some machine stitching. Then I went back and adhered the title, and placed two of the tags from the Notes & Things Ephemera Pack. And I always like to finish my layouts by adding embellishments, and stamping my date!

If you’re in need of a quick masculine card, then look no further than your September 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits. I used the kraft cardstock from the Cardstock Add-On Kit, for the base of my card. And I paired the wood veneer fox from the Teresa Collins wood veneer pack with the chipboard talk bubble from the My Mind’s Eye Market Street chipboard sheet. Before I add the fox and talk bubble, I used the wood grain washi tape, on the base of the card. To finish my card sentiment, I added several of the word stickers from the sticker sheets and stitched through them with my sewing machine.

TUESDAY WITH KALI BERTAZZON…

Hi there, its Kali here with you!  Today I want to share two more projects created with our fabulous September Hip Kit & Add-On Kits.  I used a photo from our summer vacation and I wanted to use products with blues and neutrals to create my page.  I decided add my photo and create my layout using the center part of page.  I think that the striped paper helps center the elements on my project.  I hope you like it!

September 30 LO 1

GUEST DESIGNER MONDAY WITH NICOLE JONES…

Hi Everyone!  Today I am excited to share a few more fun facts about our Guest Designer, Nicole Jones.  I thought it would be fun to get to know her better as well as to learn a little more about where she finds her inspiration for her projects.  I also hasharing a fun layout & process video created by our Guest Designer, Nicole Jones using our September Hip Kits.  Before we get started – I thought it would be fun to share a few more “Fun Facts” about Nicole, so you can get to know her a bit better.

  • Where do you find your inspirations for projects?
        • I find inspiration in so many places, the photos themselves usually gets my mojo
going and then when I start playing with the products I totally get inspired. For the
last year I’ve been scrapping with kits and that has inspired me to try new color
combinations and page designs as I try to get the most out of my kits.
  • List 3 random facts about yourself…
        • Started a new career when I was forty as an Ambulance Dispatcher (9-1-1) and
          that was certainly a challenge
        • I taught Scrapbooking Classes for over 10 years
        • Started a YouTube Channel about 1 1/2 years ago and have over 310 Scrapbooking
          Process Videos uploaded
  • What is your favorite color combination?
        • Pink & Black
  • What is your favorite technique or scrapbook trend at the moment?
        • I am enjoying adding mixed media products to my layouts.
  • What was the last book you read?
        • One for the Money (Series) by Janet Evanovich
  • What is your favorite adhesive?
        • My ATG Gun
  • What is your preferred page size and why? 8.5×11 or 12×12
        • I only scrap in 12 X 12 because I feel that 8.5 X 11 just doesn’t have the real estate

Next, I am thrilled to share a brand new layout & process video by Nicole featuring our September Hip Kit. I love the layering she and tiny details that she added to her project.  Thank you so much Nicole for sharing your talent with us again this week.  Enjoy!  xo – Kimberly –
