TUESDAY WITH KALI…

Hi everyone! Kali here today to show you my new projects with the November kit and Add-Ons.I have a crush with this patterned paper from Pebbles but it’s not easy to work with. I used small pictures and embellishments to not overload my layout. And finally I added some sequins and also stamps from our December Documented kit.

MONDAY WITH IRIT…

Hi! It’s Monday, which means that it’s my day of sharing some fun new layouts I created using the November kits.
Today I’ll be sharing two layouts, that are, as I would call it- product focused. Which just means that my design is based and focused on
one of the products in the kit. I like to do this after I’ve made a few pages with a kit, and got the feel of the kit.
My first layout is all about those big wood veneer numbers. I used them on two other layouts, and just wanted to play with the rest, and really make a statement.
Enter- I-zinks.
These metallic inks are really fun, and I am all about color. I really wanted to play with different shades, so I mixed the Topaz and Tulip. I wanted a gradual look of all the different shades, going from pure pink to pure turquoise. I painted the ‘0’ with Tulip and the ‘9’ with Topaz. To make all the color mixing easier, I started with equal amounts of pink and turquoise, and painted the ‘6’, which was exactly in the middle. Then I added gradually turquoise for the shades of the ‘7’ and ‘8’ and then pink for the ‘1’ and ‘4’. You can see exactly how I did it in the video.
The layout is titled -‘Always counting’ and the journaling just talks about how my mom and daughter are always counting the days till they meet again…

My second page for today is really fast and simple, and uses a lot of the lovely metallic embellishments that came with the kit and the embellishment add on. I also pulled some of the gorgeous gold thickers we got in the October kit for my title. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you next Monday with a brand new project. Have a great week and don’t forget to check back later today for the January kit reveal!

WITH OUR GUEST DESIGNER ADRIENNE ALVIS…

Hello Hip Kit Club fans! It’s Adrienne back again and today I”m sharing a few of my completed pages from my December Memories album with you. When I first saw the adorable deer patterned paper from Webster’s Pages I knew I wanted to use the whole sheet for my title page. I layered a few wood veneer pieces and letter stickers on it from the November kits and a piece of the red vellum from All That Glitters Printed Vellum sheet. I’m mixing up my numbers throughout my album using different types of letter stickers, the Jillibean Soup Diecut Number Tags, and some of the wood veneer numbers from the November kits to give my pages some font contrast. I am also printing my photos out at various sizes and using the chipboard frames from Crate Paper to house some of them as well. Pre-making my album really helps me put my completed pages together in no time! It also allows me to switch things up if I want to depending on the amount of photos or journaling I wish to include for each day. Thanks for stopping by today! Do you have any pages completed in your album yet?

SATURDAY WITH ASHLEY FOWLER…

Hey Everyone! Ashley here bringing you a “Very Merry” layout made with the fabulous November Hip Kit Club main kit and embellishment kit! I started with a Shimelle neutral background and jazzed it up with lots of the Elle’s Studio ephemera. This layout is very simple but I am loving how amazing the colors work together in this kit! Hope y’all have a wonderful Saturday!

SHARING MY DECEMBER DOCUMENTED ALBUM… DAYS 2 – 6…

For those of you who have been long time members – you probably know how little time I have to scrap. I have carved out a little time to create a December Documented Album this year using our December Documented Kit along with a few goodies from our November Hip Kits. I haven’t printed photos, but that is the only thing I need to do. The pages are ready to go. So, I thought I would share with you. I will tell you that I used a 6×6 Heidi Swapp Clear Woodgrain stamp with Hero Art Gold Shadow Ink on white cardstock to create the foundation pages throughout my entire album.  I think it gives nice continuity throughout the album. I hope you like what I have done so far.  xo Kimberly

MONDAY WITH IRIT…

Hi everyone! It’s Irit with a new fun mixed media layout for this Monday!
A lot of people are a little bit intimidated by getting messy, and I agree that I find mixed media layouts to be, for the most part, more challenging to create than other layouts.
I do have a few tips for making pretty pages, that let the photos shine and do not look too messy. I think editing is really important when using mixed media. I usually use gesso to begin with, and then add some color, and sometimes texture paste. When I use more layers, it can get trickier. Personally, I like a fresh look, where you can still see all the elements on the page, like the patterned papers. When I add too many layers, it starts to look over processed, and I try to avoid that.
Another great tip, is to leave some white space. White space is just areas on the page that are left untouched. On this layouts, all the elements are concentrated in the middle, and the top and bottom are just plain untouched cardstock. This really helps keep the page looking fresher and cleaner.
You can see exactly how I created this layout in the process video. Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you next Monday with a brand new project! Have a great week!

SUNDAY WITH KATE…

Hey y’all, Kate Kennedy here with a really fun and easy layout. First, let me explain the photo and title. This is a picture of my little brother taken by their photographer at an event his band was playing at. The band is called El Divino Nino, hence, the title. I super loved the picture and it was absolutely the inspiration for the colors of the layout. Sometimes a photo just speaks to you and it is so fun to go with it. I love using grey, black, white, and cream with a black and white photo and since it is the holidays and red is my brothers favorite color I added some hints throughout the layout. One of my favorite things about paper is the branding strip at the bottom, with most brands it is a complete 12″ strip of a pattern from the collection. Use them! It’s like a bonus pattern, and perfect for creating the strips along the top and bottom of the layout. Here’s my question this week, well, there are two actually: Do you use the branding strips from your papers? And, do you let photos dictate your colors and design or do you have the products in mind and choose a photo to go with them? Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out the video for details of the entire process!
