Saturday with Ashley Fowler… Process Video…

Hey y’all, Ashley Fowler here. Thanks for joining me for another Saturday layout share using the May 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits. I started this layout by using the amazing sketch created by my fellow design team member, Ashley Horton. I chose a busy background for the base of my layout, then found embellishments that would compliment the page and also relate to the sketch. Instead of u…sing large splatters, I dropped dots with India ink for a little added interest and then completed the page with “my take” on arrows which ultimately became the triangles at the bottom of the focal point. I hope you all gain some inspiration, and I would love to see your layouts with the May 2014 sketch! Have a great day!

Thursday with Amelie…

Hi there, it is Amélie here with you and I will share with you my latest projects with May Hip Kit and Add-On Kits. It was a real pleasure to work with these kits. All these colors are so enchanting! For this first layout, I worked on a black background to highlight my layering of colored papers. I f you want to see more about this page and its creation, you can watch my process video below

This is my second project for today created with our May kits. This time I played with pink, orange and black colors palette. I think it is one of my favorite colors palette of May kits. The combination of these colors are perfect for me.

Wednesday with Ashley Horton…

When I’m browsing Blogs and Galleries, I always like to keep an eye out for trends. Some I think I would like to try and others I just admire. One trend I’ve noticed lately is the diagonal paper cut for the left and right side of the layout. For my final layout  using our May Hip Kits used the White cardstock from our Mat Cardstock Add-On Kit along with the fun circle patterned paper from Heidi Swapp to create my diagonal background. This design worked great for the two photos I had of our daughter. Our photo shoots usually go something like this…50 crazy shots and one good shot (if we’re lucky!!). The Plus One Thickers added a nice contrast line, because of the Black letters. I finished my layout by adding several of the Pink Paislee Chipboard pieces.

When you are creating cards, most of them are for happy occasions, but there can be times that a more sympathetic card is called for. The Rain Rain Go Away sentiment included in the Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine collection stood out to me, when I started working on this card. I used the Gray cardstock from our May Cardstock Add-On Kit, and added a transparent look with a couple of the clouds from the Chic Tags Cloud 9 Acetate Tidbits included in the May 2014 Embellishment Kit. And the sequins in the May 2014 Main Kit worked as perfect rain drops for my card.

Monday with Emily…

Happy Hip Kit Monday everyone! Thank-you for joining me again using our May kit to create this fun and simple layout! I wanted to keep this layout very simple using only a few photos and some various size strips of patterned paper from our May Hip Kit. To finish it off I added the Amy Tangerine “hello” tag as well as a few chipboard embellishments and acetate die cut shapes along with a sprinkling of sequins and enamel dots.  I hope you like it!

As summer is quickly approaching I have really been inspired by the bright colors of the season! For this layout I used a few fun summer photos that coordinated perfectly with our May Hip Kit.

Today I was really inspired by Amy Tangerine’s “Plus One” die cut sheet from our May Hip Kit. I decided to use white card stock as a blank canvas and cut up the “Plus One” paper to create a layered look. I then added a few photos and a variety of embellishments from Chic Tags, and Basic Gray to help tie the layered papers together. As a finishing touch I added journaling, some mist splatters and a few sequins

Sunday with Mandy…

The inspiration for this layout came from that crazy girl you see in the photo, my Avery Ella. She is a Punky Brewster child and loves color, patterns, and design. She loved our May Hip Kits, and when she saw I was creating a layout using her “stache’ photo she got giddy with all the patterns and bright colors. I’ve said it many times this month… the bright colors in this kit are so easy to create with, but you can easily find neutrals too. It’s hard to pick a product that I loved on this layout as you can see I have a little bit of everything because I love it all.

Simple Hello card created with the Basic Grey Snippets in our main kit for May.  I’m going to sound like a broken record but I love those snippets!! I also love the Chic Tags Cloud Nine clear tidbits, they were a perfect embellishment for this little card.

Saturday with Ashley F…

Hey y’all, Ashley Fowler here. Thanks for joining me for another Saturday layout share using our May 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits. I started my layout by using the amazing sketch created by my fellow design team member, Ashley Horton. I chose a busy background for the base of my page, then found embellishments that would compliment my project and also relate to the sketch. Instead of using large splatters, I dropped dots with India ink for a little added interest and then completed the page with “my take” on arrows which ultimately became the triangles at the bottom of the focal point. I hope you all gain some inspiration here, and I would love to see your layouts with the May 2014 sketch!   See you next week with another fun project.  Happy Saturday!

Friday with Kate…

Hey y’all, Kate Kennedy here with a super fun layout using our Hip Kit Club Exclusive May Cut Files along with our May Hip Kit & Add-On Kits!!! To create this background I took the triangle background cut file and enlarged it to about 8.5″x11″.  Once cut, I placed it on a piece of cardstock that I was going to use as my background.  Then I filled in the triangles with the triangle pieces left from the cut. Next, I removed with outline and it left a great arrangement of triangles. I applied gesso over the entire thing and once dry went to town with Neocolor Water Soluble Crayons and Gelatos. This was super fun, a bit messy, and definitely something I will try again.  Make sure to watch the video for step by step instructions on how this layout came together. See you next Friday with a new project!  xo – Kate –

Wait… there is a bonus. To test out this process I tried it on a smaller scale, only instead of the triangles I used the negative, again gessoed, and used Neocolors. I ended up with this super fun card. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out the Hip Kit Club.

My second project is this pretty little card, and it was really easy to create. I used two labels from the Highline Snippets book and a few other embellishments from my May Kits. I hope you have enjoyed the projects I have shared with you today!  I will be back next Thursday with more projects to inspire you!  Have a great day!  Xo. Amélie.

Wednesday with Ashley H.

I can’t get enough of the Triangle trend and I wanted to use some large Triangles in the background of this layout. I like to mix shapes and I love the look of the Triangles against the fun hexagon pattern on the Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine patterned paper from the May 2014 Hip Kit Club Main Kit. I also wanted to incorporate some of the awesome clear tags from Chic Tags new Cloud 9 collection, that are a part of the May 2014 Embellishment Kit.  I hoe you like it.

You can combine your scrap pieces with the fun May Triangle cut file, for a quick and easy card. CLICK HERE to download these exclusive Silhouette Cut Files for FREE!  I used a White on White base for my card.  Then just placed several different patterned papers behind some of the triangles. One of the Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine Chipboard pieces combined with the Basic Grey letter stickers, made a perfect sentiment for my card.  See you next week with another fun project!  xo – Ashley

Saturday with Ashley Fowler…

Hey y’all! Ashley Fowler here sharing another layout made with the May 2014 Hip Kit Club Main Kit and Add-On Kits. This page is clean and simple, but has to be another one of my favorites. I began by choosing the photos and the design of my layout. I chose some patterned papers from our kit to layer underneath the photos, as well as cardstock for a simple matte. Then, I needed an anchor for the Amy Tangerine “hello” tag so I created a couple of layers underneath that as well. Lastly, I added some sewing, enamel dots, and lots of chipboard embellishments. I just love how quickly this page came together but I love the result even more! Thanks for joining me and I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!  Be sure to watch my process video below to see exactly how I went about creating my page.  Loves.
